1. Understanding Screen Printing for ceramics, glassware, stainless steel/acrylic, porcelain and plastic.

A. Silk Screen printing for ceramic requires the product to be kiln fired at high temperatures. Having mugs kiln fired, makes the print permanent and ever lasting. Printing close/tight registrations is our specialty at Discountmugs.com. Standard mug printing industry normally uses the direct screen print method. Direct screen printing limits your artwork to at least a 1/8” tolerance within color gaps. Here at discountmugs.com we offers two types of printing methods, direct standard screen printing and also precision registration & detail printing. C. All stainless steel travel mugs and water sports bottles are recommended for hand wash only. Not microwaveable nor dishwasher safe.

2. Knowing your colors and inks.

A. Printing certain ceramic colors may be difficult. Color such as pink, purple, magentas tends to shift shades when firing. We try our best to match your specific PMS color as close as possible. If you are concerned about color matching then I suggest you order a preproduction sample before the run of your entire order. Preproduction samples prices are $150.00.

B. Printing a light imprint ink on colored coffee mug can be tricky. Some ceramic inks when printed on a dark mug will sometimes have an opacity. A white imprint on a black mug may seem to have a look where the white will be very light grey. Which in reality it is actually white, but the dark mug will give the print an illusion of an color change. Dark imprints on a dark mug will make the imprint color even darker. The best way to go about choosing your imprint colors is by having the colors opposite. White on black or black on white, etc...
